Remembrance of those days scares me,
Depresses me,
It is too painful
Big girls don't cry,
But that day I did,
Cried in silence,
tears flowing
Heart shattered.
The feeling of betrayal fresh,
Scarring me so deep,
That I can shed more tears with a simple remembrance.

Daisy from The Great Gatsby
From upper class she was,
Dressed in white,
as white as the pearls in the ocean.
Sipping wine,
elegant, graceful, poised.
Men tipped their hats at her.
She smiled,
a scornful smile.
Powdered hands,
pale fingers,
clutched at her beige skirt,
as she walked in the halls.
A gentleman in blue,
took her delicate fingers,
bent down,
touched his lips to them,
Dove into his pocket,
white turned to silver.
Diamonds sparkled,
as she danced under the eyes,
he lifted her hand,
his lips met hers.
The melodious music stopped,
he bowed.
And then it was all over
Dressed in white,
as white as the pearls in the ocean.
Sipping wine,
elegant, graceful, poised.
Men tipped their hats at her.
She smiled,
a scornful smile.
Powdered hands,
pale fingers,
clutched at her beige skirt,
as she walked in the halls.
A gentleman in blue,
took her delicate fingers,
bent down,
touched his lips to them,
Dove into his pocket,
white turned to silver.
Diamonds sparkled,
as she danced under the eyes,
he lifted her hand,
his lips met hers.
The melodious music stopped,
he bowed.
And then it was all over

The Beating Heart that is Karachi
Karachi. Big, bustling Karachi. Enchantingly dirty. Amazingly alive. A heart beating at its centre night and day. My favourite city. You will look at me in surprise. Noisy, filthy, overcrowded Karachi, my favourite?
Yes indeed. You have to look past its flaws to see its beauty. You have to see the treasures Karachi holds within. The warm waves. The smell of worldly cuisines on its streets. Karachi's strangers coming to your aid in times of need. The unity among the rich, the poor, the different religions and sects holds the city together. People bring this city to life.
Words
Words fall across the page,
Blue water creating them
Black powder forming them
Letters trail off the page
Heading to the end
Harsh touches
stain the tree's bark
Pressing against it
Creating veins
that will live forever
Unless burnt

Moonlight and its magic
The moon rose over the stillness,
Glowing in its magnificence
Its white eyes gazed down on the chaotic world,
Pulling the waves with its gaze,
Pulling the waves with its gaze,
Pushing them away in anger
The salty waves roared in delight,
As the moon cast a reflection so bright,
It blinded the world,
Blinding them from the chaos
A new life begins
She entered the hall,
her dress flashing
like bright chandeliers,
Making her way down the path of red,
A soft, steady path
A path of great importance,
Relatives gaped,
The princess,
dappled in red,
made a pathway of her own
Her suitor smiled shyly,
his hand extended
Then her fingers clasped his,
At that moment,
Her new life began

Ebony Curls Danced
The ebony waves flowed,
Curling on the rusty rock
Twirling in the soft sand,
Falling below into the shoulder abyss,
They dangle,
Tickling the blades,
Trickling past them
Down to the curves,
The wave of curls settled,
Smiling as they dangled
Chandeliers,
Whipping the air as she danced
